GODMERSHAM PARISH COUNCIL

 

 

Minutes of the Meeting of the Parish Council held on Wednesday 13th July 2016 at 8.00 pm in Godmersham & Crundale Village Hall

Present            :     Cllrs Grayson (in the Chair), Gee, & Taylor

In attendance:     Mr. Eaton, Clerk to the Council

Action by:

1 Apologies for absence

Apologies were received from Cllrs Spencer & Fisher

2 Declarations of Councillors Interests

Cllr Gee declared an interest in the planning application at 5 Purr Wood, Godmersham

There were no other declarations of Cllrs interest regarding items on the agenda

3 To approve the Minutes of the last Meeting

The Minutes of the Meeting held on 11th May 2016 were approved and signed

4 Matters Arising

Call Flow – no developments of note

Speed sign update – no developments of note

Cllr Gee thanked the Parish Council on behalf of the Village Hall Committee for their time and efforts with the shipping container planning application which had recently been approved. Cllr Gee also reported that the container would be installed as soon as the base was ready

5 To discuss matters of public concern

E mail received from Parishioner regarding the running of a business from a residential dwelling and problems with low loaders. After a discussion it was agreed to keep a ‘watching brief’

Action By:

Email from Ben Palmer, Godmersham Estate, re new catch pit and cattle gate to divert water away from the road. It was agreed to lobby Kent Highways as requested to improve road drainage and to reply to Ben asking for an installation date

Email from Parishioner re felling trees on her land to allow the siting of a speed sign near carriageway on A28 coming from Canterbury. Clerk to reply and liaise with Kent Highways

Single storey extension

Cllr Gee declared an interest and withdrew from the meeting

It was agreed that there were no objections in principle but the height of the extension should not impact on the privacy or amenity of neighbours

10 Date of next meeting

It was agreed that the next Meeting would be held on14th Sept 2016 at 8.00 pm in the Godmersham & Crundale Village Hall
